Swim Coaching
Technique.
Pacing.
Progress.
Swim coaching with purpose. Through structure and real-time feedback, I provide training tailored to your goals—engineered for maximum efficiency and total control in the water.
Why
Swimming more does not automatically make you a better swimmer.
Without structure, it is easy to repeat patterns, reinforce habits that are holding you back, and keep working hard without moving forward. You can train consistently and still not improve if nothing meaningful is changing in how you move through the water.
Progress comes from how you swim — not just how much you swim.
That means understanding pace, managing effort, and holding technique when it starts to break down.
WHO
This is for you if you are
This works best for swimmers who want a more thoughtful and structured approach. You do not need to be elite, but you do need to be willing to engage with the process, take feedback on board and give the work time to build.
You are happy training on your own and do not need constant supervision to stay consistent.
You value feedback, welcome adjustment, and want more than a generic list of sessions.
You are working towards a race, an event, open water confidence, or simply a better standard in how you swim.
How
A structured system, not random sessions.
Coaching is designed to be clear, manageable and responsive. The aim is not to overcomplicate your training, but to make it more useful.
Start with analysis
We begin with a swim analysis or video review to get a clear sense of how you are swimming now.
That gives us a practical starting point rather than making assumptions.
Build the sessions
Your sessions are written around your current level, your goals and the time you have available.
Repeat times, rest and distance are all adjusted to suit you.
Use feedback well
After sessions, feedback helps shape what comes next.
That means the work evolves with you, rather than staying fixed when something needs to change.
Track progress
Monthly test sets and race planning give you clear markers to work from.
Over time, that makes progress easier to see and training easier to trust.
About
About me
I’m Ciara — a swim, movement and performance coach with over 30 years' experience. My background in technology, design and systems thinking brings structure, clarity and confidence to how I coach.
Swimming has been a constant through my life, from teaching and coaching at a young age to working with clubs, open water swimmers and adults looking for a more structured way to improve.
My coaching focuses on technique, pacing and control — helping you understand what is actually happening in your swimming and how to change it.
